FAQs

Can I use MMA gloves for both bag work and sparring?

Not ideally — bag gloves carry denser padding built for absorbing heavy impact, while sparring gloves add protection to keep both fighters safe during live rounds. Using one for the other’s job either wears out the padding faster or leaves you under-protected.

What's the difference between MMA gloves and boxing gloves?

MMA gloves use an open-palm design so you can grapple, with lighter padding focused on knuckle protection. Boxing gloves fully enclose the hand with heavier padding built for repeated striking. If you train both disciplines, most fighters keep a pair of each rather than trying to make one do both jobs.

Is there a difference between male and female groin protectors, or is it one-size-fits-all?

There’s a real fit difference — our female groin protector uses a dedicated contour rather than a scaled-down unisex shape, which matters for both comfort and how securely it stays in place during sparring.

Should I get open-face or nose bar headgear?

Open-face headgear maximizes visibility and is common in lighter training. Nose bar headgear adds a reinforced guard over the nose for extra protection during harder sparring — worth the trade-off in visibility if you’re sparring frequently or with harder partners.

Does sizing and fit vary between different categories like gloves, headgear, and protective gear?

Yes — sizing isn’t one-size-fits-all across categories. Gloves are sized by weight (oz) rather than hand size alone, headgear is sized by head circumference and fit around the face, and protective gear like groin protectors has its own fit considerations by category. If you’re between sizes on any product, it’s always safer to size up rather than down for a snug, comfortable fit.

Can I customize products across your shop, or only certain categories?

You can design and customize select models right through our 3D Shop — choose your colors, materials, and logo placement, and preview your design before you order. Visit the 3D Shop directly to see which products are currently available to customize and start designing yours today.

What's the difference between training, sparring, and fight gloves — and which one do you need?

Training gloves suit bag and pad work. Sparring gloves carry the heaviest padding, since you’re protecting two people during live rounds. Fight/competition gloves strip padding to the regulation minimum for speed. Not sure which build fits you? Design your own in our 3D configurator and get gloves matched to exactly how you train.
